Joan M.'s Story

UPDATE: 8-13-09 Things are looking up a bit. As tough as life gets, life is still worth living. I am lonely without my husband, but so happy to have Panzer, my wonderful "baby" who will be two y.o. Nov. 23rd. My days are filled with his antics. He's so much fun and so very bright. I'm looking forward to having some kind of party for my oldest daughter, Linda, who will be 50 on 10/2. I wonder how she can be that old when I'm just 60 - sure! Jo Anne just turned 48 and Diane will be 45 on August 27th. She was a twin with David, whom we lost 1-28-92. That's one hurt that doesn't go away completely. It just becomes softer. When I made the decision to purchase a puppy I Googled every small breed and what their characteristics are as I have one grandson who is allergic. Then trying to find a breeder. So many throughout the U.S. but they wanted to ship the puppy via air. I wanted to meet the breeder, which we did. Found our Panzer near Pittsburgh on 9-6-08. Everyone thought I was out of my mind ( at my age ) to be tieing myself down when I was "free." I now know why God sent this little creature for me to love. He's the best dog I have ever had. My last one was a Cock-a-poo, and Pixie lived to be 16 - another wonderful dog, but not like Panzer. I bought him as a show dog as the breeder couldn't breed him ( too large ). I could have continued showing him as he was a winner. I have two ribbons from the day we purchased him. He also was "Best of Show." Now he's just a wonderful pet. The picture you see is of my Panzer with his hair cut. He's absolutely beautiful in his full coat, but even with brushing daily he still gets matted. I'm going to give it one more try to keeping it long. My family all live close by. Otherwise I would most likely move where the taxes are much lower. We are zapped in NJ. I have a wonderful family and I thank God every day for what I do have. No matter how tough life gets life is still worth living. I hope people remember me as being a fun-type. I still enjoy people and a lot of fun. I feel very lucky to have survived many physical obstacles. I feel like the Energizer Bunny. I survived sepsis four years ago, so I am blessed. I could have been left with many problems from sepsis...Expand for more
but surfaced the same way as before. I play the piano or take a walk If I could improve my home, I'd remodel nothing and add on a sun room. My dream home would be right here. I just purchased a new kitchen set. Joe and I spoke of buying a new one, so I feel justified in making this purchase. I think I may remain in this home as I just love it, and my property is a paradise - yet very convenient. I still look ahead in life. I am anxious to find out just which directions my grandsons will take. My oldest, Steven, just completed his first year of college as an E.E. David and Alexander are headed in that direction as they are wonderful students - love school. I am blessed as my girls are loving and caring. I'm still in touch with my daughter-in-law. She's part of our family and always will be. She's Steven's mom. Hope everyone is in the spot they had planned and enjoying life. Joan Dolatoski-Piontek Edison, NJ UPDATE: 8-27-09 I cannot believe I first wrote two years ago. My how time flies. Today is the b'day for Diane and David. Spent yesterday with Diane, went to the cemetary. Diane is a twin with David, whom we lost 1-28-92. We all let her choose whatever way she wants to celebrate as she hurts. A friend is taking her out to a nice dinner. Tomorrow we will be going north about 60 miles to visit with the breeder who will be showing her new ones off and hopefully we'll see Panzer's dad Max. I'm leaving my money, check book and charges home so I don't get an urge to buy another puppy. They are sooooo cute. I'm almost afraid to see them. Wishing all of you a wonderful Labor Day. I would like to know where the summer went??? Sincerely, Joan Dolatoski-Piontek I always wanted to be a flight attendant when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a bad idea. As it turns out, they were right as I was too tall. Play the piano or take a walk If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have nice clothes, matching jewelry, and high heels to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My inspiration comes from my family and friends. God is my hero. I love animals. I am so very happy to have Panzer in my life. I enjoy football. I do enjoy all sports my grandsons play. I am not obsessed by anything or anyone.
